Detroit 3 headlines: Ford, U-M work on new hybrid

Ford Motor Co. said last week that it is working with the University of Michigan to help develop its next-generation hybrid car. Researchers are analyzing data from 2,500 road trips to determine how the internal electronic controls of hybrid vehicles can be modified to improve fuel efficiency and make the cars more fun to drive.
