2007 Shanghai Auto Show: Buick Riviera
Wow, I never would have imagined a Buick could look so modern and frankly so beautiful. (I suppose that is why they call it a concept car; it could never go to production at all or it may be changed numerous times before it will be available and marketed.) The design language of this new Riveria is rounded, sleek, but still looks tough. It reminds me of a futuristic bat mobile. I have found some great images of this Buick concept car from the Shanghai Auto Show provided by Motortrend, here is what they had to say: [click to continue...]

If you’re in the market to buy a new car, GM has announced new incentives for both 2007 and 20087 model year vehicles.
General Motors is putting an extra $1,000 bonus on selected 2007 and 2008 models for Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, GMC, Saturn and Hummer. The program starts Saturday, Sept. 22, and runs through Oct. 1.
There also is 0 percent financing for 60 months available for 2007 Chevrolet Silverado crew cab and GMC Sierra crew cab full-sized pickups. GM’s new crossovers — the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook — are not included.
For the first time, GM has put $1,000 cash on the 2007 Pontiac Solstice roadster. “I don’t know how many are out there, though,” a GM spokeswoman said.
GM told dealers the bonus cash is “stackable” with existing incentives. In some cases, a 2007 Lucerne sedan would have $3,500 cash on it, says one suburban Detroit Buick dealer. The 2008 Lucerne and LaCrosse cars will have $2,000 cash on them. Lease cash can be as much as $2,650 for a Lucerne and as much as $2,800 for a LaCrosse, the dealer adds.
The 2007 GMC Yukon SUV now has $7,000 on the hood.

The much-hyped and much-anticipated Buick Enclave has made its way into suburban homes everywhere. Labeled a ‘Lexus killer’ and positioned to compete with the Lexus RX and Acura MDX, the Enclave delivers quite possibly the best Buick experience yet.
The Buick Enclave was designed to replace three ailing Buick models - the aging (though popular) Rendezvous, the oversized Buick Rainier, and the Terraza, Buick’s entry to the minivan market. To replace all three segments with one vehicle is a challenge that the Enclace takes on quite successfully.
The Enclave shares a platform with the GMC Acadia and the Saturn Outlook, but the similarities don’t go too far. More curvy and luxurious styling distinguish the Enclave from its cousins. With more domesitc manufacturers taking direct aim at foreign imports such as Lexus (see the Ford Edge “Quieter than a Lexus” ad), the Enclave comes with more soundproofing to deliver a quiet-ride experience similar to that of other luxury competitors.
The 2008 Buick Enclave is available in two models, the CX (MSRP $32,790) and the CXL (MSRP $34,990). Both models come equipped with a standard 3.6-liter V6 that produces 275-horsepower. For the FWD model, the EPA estimates 16 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. The third row option allows the Enclave to seat seven or eight passengers comfortably and still allow ample enough cargo space.
The Buick Enclave will surely have broad appeal. From parents with small children looking for a stylish ride that isn’t a minivan, to luxury-SUV owners looking for a sporty, quiet ride, to baby boomers and seniors who love their Buicks - all will find something they are looking for in the 2008 Buick Enclave.
